I picked up Brandon from work at 3:30 and we immediately headed out to the humane society. When we arrived I asked the front desk if we could view Buster. The lady behind the counter said that she needs to call her co-worker to find out if he's been adopted because he was sent up to Petsmart for a outreach program. I was slightly irritated because when I called earlier in the day no one told me that he was being sent to Petsmart for the day. As she was on the phone with her co-worker we were crossing our fingers that Buster was still available. As the lady ended her phone call she immediately said "He's still available, and he'll be here in 30 minutes!" Whew, I was relieved and excited! The 30 minute wait at the humane society was quite entertaining. I've never seen so many weird people in my life. The waiting finally came to a end when we saw Buster come barreling through the door to greet us! We fell in love as soon as we saw Buster!
The application, meet and greet and counseling session took some time but it was well worth it. We came home Thursday night with the most sweetest dog! The kids absolutely love Buster and can't leave him alone. Buster knows most of the simple commands, but needs some refreshing. Walks well on a leash, house trained, doesn't jump or bark, and is so patient with the kids. Buster is a German Shephard/ lab mix and comes in at 78 pounds and is 5.5 years old. Buster has been my shadow all day and I love it!
Ava loves to play fetch with Buster |
