Meet Buster!

For the last 4 four months we have been looking at humane society websites and petfinder.com for the perfect dog, but nothing caught our attention. We tossed around the idea of getting a puppy but neither one of us really wanted to deal with a puppy. When Buster popped up on the humane society's website on Wednesday we knew that he was the one we've been searching for! Thursday morning I called the humane society to find out if he was still available, and he was. I was so excited to hear that he was available but I knew that we had to wait until 3:30pm for Brandon to get off work and go with us to view Buster. I was worried that someone might come in earlier than us and adopt him so I was anxious all day.

I picked up Brandon from work at 3:30 and we immediately headed out to the humane society. When we arrived I asked the front desk if we could view Buster. The lady behind the counter said that she needs to call her co-worker to find out if he's been adopted because he was sent up to Petsmart for a outreach program. I was slightly irritated because when I called earlier in the day no one told me that he was being sent to Petsmart for the day. As she was on the phone with her co-worker we were crossing our fingers that Buster was still available. As the lady ended her phone call she immediately said "He's still available, and he'll be here in 30 minutes!" Whew, I was relieved and excited! The 30 minute wait at the humane society was quite entertaining. I've never seen so many weird people in my life. The waiting finally came to a end when we saw Buster come barreling through the door to greet us! We fell in love as soon as we saw Buster!

The application, meet and greet and counseling session took some time but it was well worth it. We came home Thursday night with the most sweetest dog! The kids absolutely love Buster and can't leave him alone. Buster knows most of the simple commands, but needs some refreshing. Walks well on a leash, house trained, doesn't jump or bark, and is so patient with the kids. Buster is a German Shephard/ lab mix and comes in at 78 pounds and is 5.5 years old. Buster has been my shadow all day and I love it!

Weekend visit to California

Last weekend we made a trip down to Northern California to visit my sister Jacee and her family. We finally got to see their new house and spend quality time with the kids. My niece Aubree is 5 and Bradyn is 6 months old. My kids currently have baby fever so they LOVED being around Bradyn! Ok fine, I have baby fever too so I was pretty excited to snuggle the little man ;) The drive time to their house is about 9 hours so we left on Thursday after Andrew finished up with school and arrived at 9:30pm. The kids did great during the drive. When we hit the road we hate to make stops so  thank goodness for a DVD player, leappad and leapster! Overall we made great time, but we did get a ticket. I guess 79 in a 55 is too fast, oops! We got pulled over on a Indian reservation so that luckily saved us from a big ticket.

We had a great time visiting family and can't wait to do it again soon! Here are some pictures from our fun filled weekend!

This picture would have been perfect but I messed up the focus on Bradyn :(

Fantastic Easter!

This year we decided to keep Easter simple and stay close to home. With all of the traveling we have done it was nice to just relax at home and watch the kids enjoy the holiday. We started the morning off with Easter baskets full of goodies and some egg hunting.

The kids found the hole where the Easter bunny came up ;)

After the kids had their fun in the back yard we packed a lunch and headed out to Seabeck. The weather was close to 70 with clear blue skies so we knew Seabeck would be a perfect place to hang out  for the afternoon! The kids enjoyed the beach where they threw rocks, ran around and found a few star fish.

"Please Andrew, hug me!"

Kisses from my sweet girl
